Whitening

A proper exam is needed to assess to see if you are a candidate for whitening. The exam will assess your habits (i.e. wine drinking and smoking), current shade, any underlying cavities that are important to address first, and fillings that may not whiten during the procedure.

If you are a candidate, there are two methods that our office supplies for your whitening needs.

1. Zoom – This is a two hour appointment where the whitening is done in-office. It is usually a one appointment procedure that leads to instant results; however, results vary from person to person with some needing a few appointments. This is the procedure seen on the TV show ‘Extreme Makeover’.
2. Bleaching trays – Customized trays, fitted to your teeth, are fabricated by our dental team. The trays are then taken home where you apply the whitening gel yourself. If your oral health does not change, you can keep and use the trays indefinitely. This is perfect when you want to whiten your teeth anytime in the future.
