A laser is used for minor surgeries of the soft tissues in your mouth – i.e. your gums. The procedure is quick, painless, and heals very quickly. It is also great for painlessly treating canker sores and cold sores, when treated at its early stages. If you are starting to feel a canker sore or cold sore at the early stages, give us a quick call and we can quickly treat it with a laser.
Are you nervous of the dentist? Dr. Dang mostly approaches the appointment first by providing a relaxed environment where extra time is taken for the procedure. The patient is welcomed to stop the dentist for any breaks and questions. Dr. Dang will also guide you through the appointment, if requested, to give you peace of mind. Most anxious patients find this approach helps.
If you require more sedation, Dr. Dang can also provide an oral sedative or nitrous oxide aka ‘laughing gas’. A full medical history will need to be taken to ensure you are an appropriate candidate. Instructions will also be given to ensure safety.
Do you play a physical sport; such as ice hockey, field hockey, soccer, basketball, football, rugby, lacrosse, and boxing? If so, it is recommended to wear a properly fitted sports guard.
A properly fitted sports guard, fabricated by our office, will prevent concussions and reduce the risk of fracturing teeth.
Do you grind your teeth? Do you wake up with headaches and/or sore facial muscles? Do your teeth look flat? Do you have a history of breaking teeth? Chances are you might be grinding.
A proper assessment will be needed to see if a night guard is required.
Bathurst Dupont Dental accepts all forms of insurance. For your convenience, our office directly submits insurance claims electronically to your insurance company. This eliminates the paperwork, hassle, and saves you time – giving you piece of mind.
It is important to keep a regular re-care program to ensure that you maintain a healthy smile. By maintaining a regular maintenance program, it allows the focus of your oral health to be on prevention rather than treatment. If treatment is needed, regular visits will allow us to detect it early, which reduces complexity and cost.
Do not hesitate if you start to feel symptoms or see ‘cavities’ in your mouth. Again, treating it early will lead to a better result with less complications.
Are you in pain? Did you break a tooth? Do you have another dental emergency? Dr. Dang and his team are willing to accommodate you to provide the care that you need. Please call us at our office number of 416-531-3451 to book an appointment. You may also reach us during off-hours by email at firstname.lastname@example.org for any assistance or questions.
The first visit is an important appointment where we will spend time getting to know you. You may also address any concerns with your oral health. We will also take a comprehensive medical history to ensure your safety. We will then diligently perform a comprehensive exam, where the information will give us a better understanding of the status of your oral health.
For children, a short appointment will be needed to introduce and familiarize them to the office, providing a pleasant experience. Our goal is have children love coming to the dentist. Time will also be taken to answer any concerns patients have about their children’s teeth and any general questions.
Do you have a question, need an opinion, or need reassurance of your oral health? Feel free to ask Dr. Dang and he will be willing to answer your questions. The dental team takes pride in their love to educate their patients.
Regular cleaning appointments are needed to maintain healthy gums, teeth, and general health. Coming in for regular cleaning appointments is an excellent form of prevention. It allows us to maintain the foundation for your teeth and makes subsequent appointments more comfortable.
Studies have also shown a link that regular cleanings prevents several systemic conditions; such as, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. For pregnant women, studies have shown that regular cleanings during pregnancy lowers the risk for preterm births.
If you have any questions, do not be afraid to call us.
Prevention is our upmost goal in providing care to our patients. This is achieved through oral hygiene instruction, routine exams, and regular dental hygiene visits.
A proper exam is needed to assess to see if you are a candidate for whitening. The exam will assess your habits (i.e. wine drinking and smoking), current shade, any underlying cavities that are important to address first, and fillings that may not whiten during the procedure.
If you are a candidate, there are two methods that our office supplies for your whitening needs.
1. Zoom – This is a two hour appointment where the whitening is done in-office. It is usually a one appointment procedure that leads to instant results; however, results vary from person to person with some needing a few appointments. This is the procedure seen on the TV show ‘Extreme Makeover’.
2. Bleaching trays – Customized trays, fitted to your teeth, are fabricated by our dental team. The trays are then taken home where you apply the whitening gel yourself. If your oral health does not change, you can keep and use the trays indefinitely. This is perfect when you want to whiten your teeth anytime in the future.
Our office provides treatment for your cosmetic needs. Below is a list of all cosmetic treatments provided. Feel free to ask the dental team.
• Tooth coloured fillings
• All porcelain crowns
• Teeth Whitening
• Dental implants
• Porcelain Veneers
• Dentures and partial dentures
• Recontouring teeth to the shape you desire
Dr. Dang and his team believe strongly in oral cancer screening. They will take the time to screen for oral cancer for every patient at routine dental exams. Dr. Dang welcomes patients to inquire and ask for opinions of their oral health.
Although our goal is to save teeth; in reality, this may not be the case due to many reasons. If the tooth cannot be saved, the tooth will need to be removed. Options will then be given to replace the missing tooth, if requested or needed.
aka “fillings” – Our office uses “white fillings”, which do not contain the mercury found in metal fillings.
